Hey Everyone.
While I may seem like I'm just a sexually-adventurous girl hocking my smut all the time (I am), I'm more than just a bevy of naughty ideas and taboo tales. You see, this industry is being driven by a demand unseen in literary history, and it's the writers who have a brain for business as well as bawdy tales who will survive this over-saturation and rise to become top earners. That's why I am always sure to keep a special audience in mind when I write - an audience that is often overlooked by has the potential to be a goldmine if they're given what they want.
That audience is men.
While it's true that the overwhelming number of erotica and romance readers are women, the number of people reading erotica is so vast that even the small percentage of men who prefer it to visual content still makes up an audience of several million.
SEVERAL MILLION.
And aside from M/M content for gay, bi or bi-curious men, few people are writing smut and erotica that specifically caters to male fantasies and / or is written from the male POV. This may be because, like the readers, the overwhelming percentage of erotica WRITERS are women as well. Of course, there are a few guys out there, like Kris P. Kreme (see below), who are doing lots of male POV and male oriented stuff, and they've been rewarded for their sense of innovation. Still, many female writers who want to get a piece of this neglected market often find themselves at a loss as to how to relate to a male erotica audience.

Well worth a read BTW. |
Fortunately, I have a secret weapon in that area, and I call him Matt.
Matt is a man's man. He rides 4-wheelers, hunts and works in tool & die. He also LOVES my smut. I've been writing this stuff long before I started publishing it, and Matt has always pestered me for more stories, sometimes contributing ideas. He's even helped me with some of the male parts, describing what he would do in certain situations and how certain things feel, etc.
It's helped my writing and my sex life, actually. ; )
The point is, while I write for a female audience, Matt has assured me that my writing appeals to men just as well, mostly because my main genre (Virgin Brat Punishment Pseudo-Incest) contains themes and taboo turn-ons that both sexes can enjoy.
For instance, take one of my earlier books, "His Little Selfie Slut"
The story follows tropes and themes typical to the PI and Brat genre, and never once passes from the main character Meredith's POV. Still, there are plenty of things going on in the book that both sexes can get off on.
While women like this genre because of the taboo nature of step-father attraction, a secret desire to punished into submission, and an attraction to authority, men enjoy watching the shy, berated step-father stand up his daughter and dominate her sexually, and - according to Matt - will get a particularly big thrill out of being inside the mind of a female as she transforms from defiant brat to sexual slave.
It's about catering to FANTASIES that some people don't even know they have, and giving them a safe place to indulge those fantasies.
In the future, I plan on introducing a series of Male POV stories like the one below. I want to combine PI with some DubCon / Hypnosis stuff, as I think the male mind will really react to a character that posesses the power to have any woman he wants, even the one's that society says he shouldn't have. I've posted this before, but here's a preview of my first installment...
So no matter your gender or your level of kink, I suggest giving at least one of my stories a try.
They're girl tested, but guy approved.
Peace!
